Why this work matters to us.
When Kenneth's mother needed assisted care more than a decade ago, his family did what most families do: they searched online, made dozens of calls, drove from community to community on weekends, and still felt like they were guessing. The big national referral sites were quick to call back — and quick to push.
He wanted something different for the next family. So in 2012 he started Senior Assisted Living Placement out of his home in Sitka, Kentucky, with two simple rules: visit every community in person, and never charge a family for the help.
Today we're still small. We still pick up the phone ourselves. And we still believe the right community feels less like a "facility" and more like a place where your mother might join her new friends for pie on a Sunday afternoon.
